Flamingos at the San Diego Zoo San Diego Zoo,Balboa Park and Fuddruckers
Up early and off to San Diego Zoo and first stop is Balboa Park, it's very pretty and we visit the Japanese garden, it's so quiet and serene and very relaxing. Steve's very excited, what he thought in the distant were large Dragon Flies are actually Humming birds and he tries get a few shots. We come across the funniest sight, a little golf buggy went past us, it was a police patrol vehicle with 2 elderly citizens driving it and we had to look twice, we could not stop laughing, how were they going to stop a criminal. Later that day we saw another patrol car (a real one) on the same block, instead of LAPD Patrol Car on it, it had RSVP which stands for Retired Senior Volunteer Police, hah the penny drops, we still couldn't stop laughing.
After our stroll around the park, we take a Trolley Car over to San Diego Zoo and what an amazing Zoo it is, we saw Meer Cats, Apes, Birds, Panda's, Elephants etcetera. There is a story about the Elephants, you see there was one that kept running back and forward in a

The Pandas, one of the most popular attractions at the San Diego Zoo pen around 100feet long and it appeared he wanted to get in with the other Elephants, I was carrying on to Steve how that's terrible and that Elephants need to be with other Elephants, it was upsetting, anyway, once we walked past all the other Elephants I asked one of the keepers why he couldn't play with the others......... well turns out his a very Randy Elephant and because the girls are on heat, he is not allowed to play because they don't want any more Elephants, mmmm, that made me think, should we do this with mankind as well?? (E
dit from Steve: "No way Jose") I will let you all ponder that one, I did suggest to Steve they just cut his knackers off! We also got to see the Koala Bears & the kookaburra's and the American's love them, it's amusing to just stand back and look at their curiosity and here there comments about the Australian animals. We've been walking for miles now and our feet are killing us at the end of the day, but it was worth it and if you ever go to America, its a definite must do!
We go to dinner

Balboa park at Fuddrucker's, "yes, that's right Fuddrucker's", we have to go just because of the name and it's another great meal that was value for money, we do little shopping and then back to the hotel for another early night as we have another early start in the morning... weather warm & sunny.
Thoughts: Balboa Park and the Zoo are a must. San Diego Zoo is part of Balboa Park, you Park your car in the main car park for Balboa Park and there is a Courtesy Bus that takes you into the centre of Balboa Park it's a short walk to the Zoo from there.
