Got up this morning to a very icy car and -4 degrees! Very cold and the altitude has played up a bit with us all, on the road again to Las Vegas. The time passes quickly as scenery is stunning. Arrived Vegas around lunchtime and booked into our accom at the Hilton Vacation Club on the strip, great two bedroom apartment and able to walk almost anywhere. First night here spent happy hour at The Stratosphere on the 40 something floor looking right down the strip, great views! Then onto Fremont Street which is always good for entertainment, people gazing and the zip line through the main street is great to watch too! Too many drinks and a very late night, cab back to Hilton around 2.00a.m. Boys went out to Hoover Dam for a few hours as Mark had not been there and I caught up on washing, ironing etc. Caught a few happy hours on the strip and dinner at Ellis Island. Of course Donald Trump is in Vegas for the debate so police everywhere and traffic blocks as well. There is still a lot of building going on in Vegas, old places being pulled down and new ones
NEVADA
Enroute to Vegas being built, noticed Crown are building a place within the next twelve months or so. Always love a visit to Vegas there is always something new and the old stuff is great too! Off to Paso Robles overnight enroute to San Francisco, through the Mojave Desert...loads of traffic....wish we had of booked a couple of nights here, a really lovely town..big wine growing area..had a fantastic Italian meal here with a great bottle of Italian vino, such great quality when so much of the run of the mill American food is very basic! Stayed at the Paso Robles Inn which was like an oasis....beautifully manicured gardens and pool area....had a Mexican feel to it...enjoyed it very much! Now the landscape has changed again, now in the rolling hills with vines planted up the side of them. Headed from here onto the coast (we are about 2-3 hours north of Los Angeles).... San Francisco here we come.....the coast road was a great drive...not for Marky bit car sick with the winding roads and John's driving..stopped to get pills in and improved. Came across an Elephant Seal colony along the way which was a great sight....but smelly!!!
