As expected, it was a rough night of sleep as Steve slept in the back bed with Rosie and Nathan slept with Tory in the bunk bed above the driver. We were up by 6:30 and using the generator to run the coffee and put on a DVD for the kids as we threw all 3 of them on the top bunk to watch the movie "Despicable Me 3" with the minions in it. Vivian kept wanting to climb up and down the ladder but the others watched the movie and drank their milk. Breakfast was simple inside at the RV table with cereal, then we were all out at the beach by 8:00 playing in the sand. We went back and forth playing baseball on the beach and inside the RVt as the girls did some stickers, Rosie played the board game Guess Who, and Nathan played checkers with Steve for entertain . Tory took the kids for a walk down to the lifeguard station as Steve napped in the RV for a while.
Nathan wanted to start building his Erector set racecar that he got for his birthday, but that didn't last long as the friends from the
next door campsite came out to take Nathan away to play with Army men with the boy Lucas. This was perfect timing after lunch so the girls could nap while Nathan played with the neighbor kids. Vivian was very good and fell right asleep on the bed in the back of the RV, while Steve and Rosie shared the top bunk and got a good nap in together. This allowed Tory some downtime to read her book and spend some 1 on 1 time with Nathan. After naps we had some excitement with hearing a single car crash on the PCH right near us, as the campsite neighbor dad was a Ventura County Sheriff and called his friends to pull the car over. Rosie and Vivian took out their Minnie Mouse Toy house and played really well with the girl Aubrey on the campground picnic bench while Nathan and Lucas ran around and played all sorts of fun games.
The late afternoon wind started to pickup at the beach but it was still sunny so the girls played more outside in the sand. Having the RV there was really nice whenever we needed to take a break. The beach
was too rocky to walk down to the water, which might have been a good thing so everyone was not muddy because we were cautious of showering and running out of water. Tory cooked a delicious spaghetti and meatballs dinner for the family and then we got ready for Nathan's big plans for the campfire that night. We were going to pop Jiffy pop over the fire, drink hot chocolate, and make s'mores. Vivian didn't so much roasting of the marshmallows but rather ate them off of her roasting skewer. The popcorn eventually worked and the other family brought over an extra bag so everyone could share. Nathan was the waiter for the hot chocolate and took everyone's order. We decided to go into the RV to get ready for bed and have a family movie night and finished our movie from the morning. Bedtime went really late and Vivian insisted on sleeping with Steve and Rosie in their bed, as she thought it would be fun to grab Steve's nose and chin with her tiny fingers and pinch them as we tried to sleep. Eventually she fell asleep and was moved into her pack 'n play and everyone slept
to the sounds of crashing waves overtaking the PCH car sounds we heard all day.
