Sarah!
Photo that we received when we got the referral at the end of June. Wonder if she's going to be much different when we see her next Monday?? We received a suggestion to post our itinerary, so that you'll be able to anticipate our whereabouts beforehand, so here goes:
- Thu, 8/18 - depart LAX for SFO, and then to Beijing
- Fri, 8/19 - arrive Beijing late afternoon
- Sat, 8/20 - Sight-seeing Tiananmen Sq, Forbidden City, Summer Palace
- Sun, 8/21 - Worship service (Woohoo!), Great Wall, duck dinner (yummy!)
- Mon, 8/22 - Morning flight to Changsha (capital of Hunan Province); receive Sarah!!
- Tue-Thu, 8/23-25 - Hanging out with Sarah, sight-seeing, paperwork, shopping, losing sleep?!
- Fri, 8/26 - Afternoon flight to Guangzhou (Guangdong Province, near Hong Kong)
- Sat, 8/27 - Sarah's medical exam, shopping, sight-seeing
- Sun, 8/28 - Fill out consulate forms, trying to catch up on sleep!
- Mon, 8/29 - Consulate appointment (9:30 a.m.)
- Tue, 8/30 - Pick up child's visa
- Wed, 8/31 - Fly to Hong Kong (short flight) in the morning
- Fri, 9/2 - Depart for SFO, visit with family and friends in Bay Area, return to LAX
Many thanks to all of you for your support, advice, encouragement, gifts and prayers over the past year as we've gone through the whole adoption process. Life is definitely better when lived in a community of friends and family! We thank God for all of you!
By the way, if you'd like, you can "subscribe" to the blog so that you receive an email when we post anything! Well, here we are...less than 12 hours to departure. :-) We'll blog to you next in Beijing! Blessings to you!
