The SIGN!!!
We arrived in LA after an awful flight on pacific air - if ryanair did long haul I imagine this is what it would be like - no space, rubbish entertainment and horrible cold food.

But by the time we had got through miserable US immigration and found our way out of the massive LAX airport we were in high spirits - we were in LAAAA!! The sun was shining and we headed for our hotel in Hollywood, the Quality Inn, quality it was not but it was in a great location.

We headed straight out to explore - Andy soon made up his mind LA was really a bit of a dump, we went to see the sign and did our best to avoid all the people trying to get us to go on Hollywood homes tours!

We had come to LA for a two reason; 1) To overindulge in food and stock up on m&m's and 2) to visit universal studios. So we weren't too disappointed we just set about completing item 1) so went shopping, later that evening we headed to my favourite American food restaurant the cheesecake factory

- it was just as good as I remember and we had a lovely birthday meal, I was particularly amused as somehow they thought when Andy said his name he was called 'Andre' and continued to call him it for the rest of the night! Clearly being British we were too embarrassed to point it out.

The next day we were up bright and early to head to Universal, both being big film fans it was on both our bucket lists. We went on all the 4D rides which were really good - a bit scarier than I had expected but great fun, Andy got to live out his dream on the Jurrasic park ride!

Later in the day when we had done all the big rides we headed to the 'house or horrors' in hindsight this was a bad decision, it was absolutely terrifying, I found myself clinging onto another terrified girl for my life and trying to close my eyes as much as possible!! Andy was more laughing than screaming, the scariest point was the Chucky room - I blame this on my brothers for showing me it when I

was young. I was relieved to see the exit but not before having to sprint through the Texas Chainsaw massacre set scene!

Outside Andy had a bit of a run in with the Frankenstein who clearly didn't appreciate someone being as tall as him and they had some pathetic looking scuffle!

We headed home from universal both really happy; definitely worth the stop in LA and a great last day outing before we headed back to the chilly UK.
