Absolutely knackered but WOW, have done so much already and only been here just over 24 hrs. Let us tell you it is very hot, Sunday when we arrived was 33, today it has been 30ish with not a cloud in the sky.
The flight went well, early landing, but we have never seen so many queues for getting through customs in one airport in all our lives, never let it be said Americans don't do queuing, cus at LAX you have no choice, 1 hour to get past passport control, then after collecting your suitcases, you have to queue again to get out another 30 mins aaahhhhh
Then we had to wait in another damn line to get the car, tempers were starting to get very frayed by this time, as we had been up for 20 hours and it was starting to show. Then we were off, I was driving with Hubby barking orders (directions he says) at me as he does, I am glad to say luckily we survived with me driving a BIG car on the wrong side of the road.
We were up early, jet lag/time difference is a bugger, had a small
brekkie & coffee by the pool at our B&B, then walked off to the Hollywood & Highland centre, bout a mile down the road, something you will never see a local doing, they seem to drive everywhere !!
Saw a couple of the stars on the 'Walk of Fame' but there are thousands of them, & you can only walk head down for so long - as you get fed up saying sorry to all the people you bump in to!
Then it was on the Metro to 'Downtown' visited Union Station, which has featured in many films, apparently, then the Walt Disney Concert Hall - very impressive building; Angels Flight railway - scary, as apparently it closed afew years ago, after not stopping & someone died !! When you see how steep it is, you would understand why we were scared; then we were off to the Grand Central Market for brunch, yum tacos here are nothing like you get at home, spicy & very tasty & not crunchy, so do not break up & drop crumbs all over you with the first mouthful - yummy
Then let Hubby have his 'film set fix' visited the
Bradbury Building, which parts of Bladerunner was filmed in, he eagerly informs me (yawn) but will say the interior was unbelievable, so ornate & most unexpected.
Then Hubby took me shopping, I wish, went to Rodeo Drive, were all the tourists hang out, didn't quite get to feel like Julia Roberts, as Mr Tightass would'nt buy me the nice little bracelet I saw, it was only $9,800 + tax ouch !
Then we were off to the Farmers Market, Hubby was well happy sat with a beer & Jambalaya watching Man Utd get beat, happy days!! Also found our new favourite shop !! Photos say it all !
Signing off now, too much sun, lack of sleep, few beers all equals, need a kip !
Hope you are all well xx

Small selection of beers
Hopefully when Neil sees this "small" selection of beers he will insist on a holiday to LA. Enjoying your blogs - look fantastic. xxxxx
