South of Carmel to Big Sur

After visiting Point Lobos today, I decided to make the 30 mile or so drive to Big Sur to experience that stretch of Highway 1 that I have not yet seen. Turns out Big Sur is mostly a camping community, and is not right on the coast. However, most of the road leading to Big Sur from Carmel is right along the ocean.

There is also a restaurant here at Rocky Point, with a nice Western view high atop the water. Must be a great place to watch a Sunset.

That is not Bixby Bridge from what I recall.

Achtung!
That would be interesting, being able to see what the size of some of these waves might in fact look like. While it was plenty windy/blustery today, no large waves at all to report.

Feels like you could throw a rock 10' out and have it land in the water.

Windy all the time at this house?
Pretty rural as well. Nearest convenience store is a bit of a drive from here. Don't even think about just hopping on your road bike and biking it, unless you have Lance Armstrong kind of legs.
