Top Off for N069RHTop Off for N069RHTop Off for N069RH

We were off on the ETA due to strong headwinds and, hence, 069RH needed an unscheduled fuel stop at Del Charro, Santa Fe, NM.

We finally made it to Page, AZ and I, Donna An, will be closing my flight plan with C2C Radio tomorrow and heading for Flagstaff, AZ for work. I had 3.8 hours logged as a student pilot prior to this trip but now have approximately 24 hours. I've flown about 2000 nautical miles on this trip, practiced take off and landings at high altitude, have gotten more proficient at pre-flight checks and communication over the radio. But the greatest accomplishment I have made on this trip is the checklist I have developed for N069RH, the 6th club plane some of you may have flown. I am hoping this will help Janice and Judy on their return flights on N069RH. You may also want to print a copy out for yourselves for your check rides.

CHECK LIST FOR N069RH

PRE-FLIGHT

1. Remove keys from 9RH and keep safe until engine start

2. Remove auditory assistance device and place in black case in flight bag

3. Rub non-alcohol-based anti-itch cream on wing tips (after hours of test flying, we have discovered that the alcohol-based formula strips the already-weathered paint)

4. Place 2 squarts of tear-free baby

sunscreen on each wing top for optimal performance (N069RH appears to be a sensitive new-age model)

5. Visually check for CFC credit card (no C/C on board is equivalent to 069RH achieving a screaming 50 knots while the Cherokee and Cardinal are enjoying good tailwinds)

6. Fuel receipts to ensure accurate CFC C2C fuel gauge reading at end of trip

7. Bucky the Dragon to protect 9RH from those who do not have "open and good hearts"

8. Full water bottle to cool the hot cylinder head

9. Munchies within reach (so you don't end up proving that you're "tasty and crunchy with ketchup")

10. Place hygenic wipe inside bladder bag and place the complete in-flight facilities under instructor seat - courtesy of AirBucky

11. Place privacy screen behind student seat, within easy reach for instructor

12. Hang jacket over instructor seat and triple check that it is NOT hanging out the door

IN-FLIGHT

1. Remove the lead weight on the right rudder

2. 9RH needs an occasional smack over the radios to keep flying fickle fingers off

SHUT DOWN

1. Remove auditory assistance device

from flight bag, place in external auditory canal and store black case in travel bag

2. Transfer the following items, which are essential for optimal performance on the ground as well as in the air, to the small pockets in travel bag
a. Breathe Easy
b. Anti-itch cream
c. Tear-free baby sunscreen

3. Discreetly remove in-flight facilities (i.e., full bladder bags need to be emptied inside the terminal)

4. Top off water bottles

5. Recheck for
a. Credit card
b. Fuel receipts
c. Keys

6. Remove Bucky and secure with keeper on duty

I've had a wonderful time on the first leg of the C2C and look forwarding to seeing everyone back in Maryland.
