Hi! We made it to the Grand Canyon. We stayed near Zion again last night, in the town of Springdale. It's a nice little town with a good coffee shop. There aren't any chain restaurants or fast food in the town, which is unusual for this area. This morning we drove from Zion to Lake Powell, Glen Canyon Dam and on to Grand Canyon. We stopped at Horseshoe Point and hiked out to the river. It was a great day to be travelling, the weather is nice - high 60's - but still a little cold at night.

Tonight we are staying near the Grand Canyon in Tusayan, AZ. We'll hike in the Grand Canyon tomorrow. We drove by it and it's HUGE.

The dam is 710 feet tall and required 10million pounds of concrete to build.

This is the bridge across the dam. It connects Page AZ with the other side of the Colorado River. The Glen Canyon Dam is on Lake Powell.

The dam has 7 turbines inside to make power from the water going through. The GC dam has no fish passageways, which means fishes headed down the river have to stop at the dam. That part is a little odd.
