Bisbee

We visited Tombstone one day from our base camp at Bisbee.

Bisbee

Bisbee was a fun town to visit. We camped within an easy walking distance of the historic area. The history of the town was copper mining, but now it seems to be tourism and art. We ended up staying in Bisbee longer than we had planned, but it was an enjoyable place to stay. Every place is either uphill or downhill, nothing seems to be on the same level due to it’s location on the side of a mountain. One evening we took some stairs to get from one street to the next street and were surprised by how many flights of stairs it took to get there.

Tombstone

I thought the gunfight at the OK Corral was from a movie or TV show. Now I know that it was an actual event that has been portrayed in the movies. We paid to see a re-enactment of this gunfight. Fortunately they also explained about the history leading up to the gunfight and it took longer than the original one. The history is unclear whether there were really any “good guys” in this encounter.

We ate breakfast here. It's fun to eat outside among flowers in March!

The town is on a mountain and the streets seemed to be more uphill than downhill. It doesn't seen possible, but I'm not admitting to feeling the uphills more than the downhills!

Creative gates into yards seem to be poplular. We saw one that was made from a car door, but I didn't get a picture of it.

Tombstone
We had a great time in Tombstone while we were in Tucson. Bisbee was interesting, but Tubac was a very creatrive place. We also went to the desert museum, the Xan Xavier del bac the Titan Missile site and the Pima Air and Space museum. We are now in Lake Havasu and took a side trip to Oatman via old route 66 with a friend who lives here, also took in the Laughlin casinos. We hope the snow is out of Flagstaff by Wednesday. No desire to go up in the mountains with snow on the ground. Brrrr
