Alaska State Fair….After work we trekked up to Palmer, AK to the fair. We made it in time (after fighting Anchorage rush hour out the one road to the north) for Kenyan acrobats and a tap/irish step/stomp troupe. Of course, Gabbi and Jacqui went on some rides and ate some yummy ice cream. We ventured into the animal area where the girls picked up chicks, petted rabbits, sheep, goats, and cows, and saw 14 piglets that had been born the day before (yes, all to the same sow). As we left the fair, we were following the yellow trail, which was marked by painted moose tracks. We were jumping on each one that we passed, when Jacqui yelled out “Oh no, Mommy, I moosed one”. We all had a good laugh. Then we got a fabulous view of the moonrise over the Chugach Mountains to the south.
