We arrived around 9:30 PM on Tuesday, June 16th and eventually caught the shuttle to our motel in downtown Juneau. The next day we did not need to leave for the airport for our flight on to Gustavus and Glacier Bay until around 2:00 PM. That gave us plenty of time to walk around and see the sights of downtown of Juneau. We actually returned to the airport well before our flight left so had time to take a hike to a trail around the Juneau airport. Here are just a few of the pictures from that day.

Thought this story was interesting - particularly for our animal loving friends. In case you can't read it, she was a deaf Engllsh bull terrier that, in the 1930's, could sense when a steamship was going to arrive in Juneau. She died in 1942 and was buried in the channel adjacent to this sign.

We stopped there on a cruise in 2007. Enjoyed seeing Alaska. Recently returned from river boat cruise that went from Amsterdam to Budapest. Congratulations on your goal.
