Our Motorhome Day 3 – Friday, July 8, 2011
We took it a little easier today. We went to Gwenie’s, an Anchorage institution, for breakfast. After breakfast at Gwenie’s I felt like a pig coming out of a cornfield with my belly hanging on the ground. Since we were near Lake Hood, the floatplane capital of the world, we watched some floatplanes land and take off. We found the DNR and purchased our fishing licenses. It costs $55.00, but whether we use the licences or not, it’s a contribution towards preserving the wonderful wildlife of Alaska. We then started getting ready for the motor home trip (provisions list, deciding where to go first, etc.).
