Not really. We're leaving for Hawaii on Sunday, and have probably spent a half an hour planning our trip. No worries, hang loose! The local park ranger on Kauai has informed me that 'Kauai loves you'! I'm pretty excited about this.

This is the bookmarked 'I need some sun, badly' vacation for most AK-ers. With the credit card companion fares, it's way cheaper for us to fly to HI than it is to the lower 48. And, we're saving some $$ by staying at various campgrounds. Note to others taking this route, give yourself some time to get the permits. The island of Kauai is great and super fast with their municipal/county permits, but the state is uber slow and annoyingly tough to get in touch with about the permits. But it's only $3 a night to stay at the county campgrounds! Compare that with $350/night for a nice hotel...

Other plans for the trip include hiking, snorkeling, reading books on the beach, snubaing, tubing, and perhaps luauing.
