Beautiful Bird
I was fascinated with the colors on these birds Just outside of Melaque we received a text message from Marsha asking where we were, and that they were already there. Without really planning it, we joined up again with Paul and Terry and Ray and Marsha. One big happy family, plus Terry´s son Darcy and Granddaughter Abigail had joined them. The campground in Melaque is interesting because one side of the campground is on a beautiful lagoon and the other is on the beach. This campground also is part of a bungalow resort. There is a beautiful pool and restaurant. We enjoyed sitting by the lagoon and watching the various birds. There was one very unusual one, his feathers were iridescent, with a white butt , long legs and big feet. He could fly, but mostly he walked, over grass, lily pads and up palm fronds. We watched a crocodile, actually they are called caman here, eat fish about 50 feet from us. We knew we had to keep Red out of the lagoons, but one morning when I had him out for a run, he launched himself off a sandbank, right into the lagoon. The beach in Melaque is golden sand and very nice. It was great to see

Don´t let your dog swim in the Lagoon everyone and to meet Abigail.
After a week in La Manzanilla with basic outdoor facilities, it was great to have hot showers and a pool. However, Ray and Marsha could only get a site for a couple of nights. We made a spur of the moment decision and decided to leave with them. Their plans are to head inland and tour the Colonial cities. We are considering tagging along. So far, we are going to hang with them as far as Zihuatanajo.
