The only reason that I decided to stay on an extra night in Merida was so that I could go to the bullfight. The bullring is a short five minute walk away from where I'm staying, and as Larry was driving us to the bus station to book our seats he mentioned in passing that there was a bullfight coming up. NICE BLOG
I didn't know they killed the bull each time...it seems the only lottery is if the bull gets a horn in first. The poise of the matadors in your photos are well captured.

We were there too!
And we too enjoyed the event. And Juan Pablo was our favourite, even though we agree that the old maestro showed class all the way, and the young Arturo showed the bravery the sport is known for. You take very good snapshots! If you send me the pic of Arturo aiming the sabre for the coup de grace, I'll send you my pic of Arturo on the ground after he was flipped by el toro.
