hitched a ride witha nice couple from denver to get into town. an hour bumpy dirt ride away to reach civilization and internet. and cold drinks too! the flu is not here so no worries, but ppl are wearing face masks because they are crazy paranoid. i am a certified open water diver now! yaya and a deep water and navigation dive away from being an advanced diver! i am going to be adding on rescue diver and divemaster by the time i leave! ill be an expert, or master i guess!
taught turtle ecology to kids the other day in a near by school. we played turtle nesting games and made binoculars out of toilette paper rolls. we could go today since all mexico schools are closed to avaoid flu transmission.
we again have been not diving for 4 days because of strong winds and waves. tomoro we should be good i hope tho! i miss the diving so much!
i am going to start a research projec on some tidepool about a 45 min walk from home soon with some other volunteers. there are tons of inverts and juvi fish in them. we found a rare sea hare and a rare urchin yesterday. i alsocut my foot and have been limping all day. the saltwater will be good for it, and our old wise mexican neighbor gave me his fav herbal remedy to help heal it. its working good so far! for lunch we ate tons of food, but my fav was some greens picked from a bus out front cooked in our solor oven we made acouple days ago. fantastic and simple!
listened to a fish behavior lecture this morning, tried to save some ppl from a car accident and calm ppl who were in shock around noon(just practce!), read tons of Shantaram(amazing book so far), and am now in town. im preparing a lecture on sharks for thursday!
hope everyone is well! adios!
