I am going to begin this tale when we got to Quintana Roo, the Eastern-most state in Mexico on the Caribbean coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. Thus leaving out a fairly soggy interlude that saw us travelling all around Chiapas and Tabasco states to try to get to Palenque when the roads were blocked by protesters.
