Arrived in Cancun on 5th september...my God it was absolutely scorching!!
Headed straight to Playa del Carmen as we didn't fancy staying in Cancun. Our hotel was called 'Playa del Karma' and it was absolutely gorgeous. It had a small pool and thatched roof cabanas, plus we had breakfast included which was prepared by the talented Italian chef Bepe, so we fairly landed with this one - all for about 12 euro each a night!
The beach in playa was savage, beautiful Caribbean blue with white sand, so we did plenty of beach bumming and Terry got nicely scorched on the first day.. Had a few savage meals out and plenty of partying at the beach bars. The weather was unreal hot though, it was really really hard to do much at all. Did a good snorkelling trip on our last day at Playa which was decent enough, got to see plenty of nice fishies but the guy taking us out decided it was a good idea to swim over the reef (into fairly rough waves) so I was afraid it would be a bit tough for Ciara and Kevin since it was their first time snorkelling. We all
survived though and I think everyone enjoyed it.. Good start to the mexico diaries!!

Hi Terry, Fran, Ciara and Kevin, the pictures say it all, looks like you're having a great time! I'm sitting in a stuffy office wishing I was with you sipping rum on a hot beach! Everyone well here, all back at school etc. We finally had a Summer ..its been warm for over a week now, Irish warm that is! Do you know when you're likely to reach Trinidad, Teddy can't wait to entertain you? Don't know if we will make it out to meet you there as we may be heading to Vegas next year to meet Toylin's new beau instead. At the risk of doing a big sister fret....
