Friday, March 8th, we began our northbound trek. We again stopped at Maruata. We pulled into town at about 3:00 p.m. Village kids, recognizing our rig waved and ran along side as we drove through the town. Senor Juantino Chavez, seemed genuinely glad to see us return. The Chavez palapa patio from the beach.

Each morning Reynalda or her daughters sweep and smooth the sand around their home.

There were three guys out surfing the night we arrived.

I got up very early to walk the beach looking for turtle tracks. There were none.

Not sure if the lack of turtles was due to high surf or time of year.

Yours truly does not see many sunrises.

Watching the kids play.

We stopped at a Pollo Asado place for lunch.

They grill up a bunch of chickens then reheat them as they are sold.

Muy rico pollo served with some tasty hash brown like potatoes and tortillas. We washed ours down with horchata.

The warm tortillas are served in a plastic bag. We got so many we thot she had made a mistake but then watching other diners eat as many as they liked then our hostess put the remainder in her warm "cooler". Boy, that wouldn't be allowed in the U.S.

I was gawking at this church and failed to see the city bypass sign.

As a result, we had a somewhat harrowing tour of a small town.

Mexico also posts Men Working signs.

How come you never see Women Working signs?

Aloha Marcia, Just wanted to let you know I really enjoyed your blog. Sounds like you & Ray are having a great time. Those kids are so cute -- you can never have enough pictures!
