On Sept 15th, 1810, Miguel Hidalgo rang the church bells sounding the cry for Independence Mexico celebrates 200 years. Outskirts of Mexico City

notice that there is only the odd building painted, this is the commoners' suburbs of Mexico City - no yard space here

Teotihuacan

up to 250,000 people lived here from 100-400 A.D. located 45 minutes northeast of Mexico City, and close to obsidian and other precious gem deposits. Beautiful authentic crafts are created and sold right here

traditional Aztec dancers are now a long ways down - they dance, all day, every Sat and Sun - it's kinda like a powwow - costumes are elaborate

Pyramid of the Sun

built between 100-400 A.D., this was used by following societies and of course, we had to climb it - legs were burning!

climbed that one is next - can only climb up halfway...after a site it repaired it must be preserved and that takes money

One can see a long ways from here, they estimate at least 100-200,000 people lived here.

this is what it looks like; I had to keep from laughing as I led my little students, head protection with book, down to safety in a soccer field along with the other 1000 people from out building

Sounds great
Sounds like you're having a great time. I leave on Mon Oct 4 for Europe for 3 weeks; Ted is going to Vegas with his sister. We've booked a cruise for Feb, which stops at various Mexican (Pacific side) ports along the way. Will talk more about that later, and see if it works for you (either on or both) to meet us someplace for the day. J
