Leonard Cohen rules (and nobody cares about Barbie) Our first stop in Canada was the city Montreal. Montreal is named after the mountain Mount Royal. We felt that we had to visit Mount Royal now that we were in the city. Both because we wanted to see the views from there and because the way we see things a visit to Montreal is not complete without visiting the mountain the city is named after. ... Read Full Entry

Belfry?

Possibly a belfry, possibly a church, possibly something else. It looks interesting with the modern buildings behind it.

We think this is art deco. Please don't make fun of us if we are wrong

The sign warns about tics. Large ticks... Like 1,5 cm large ticks...

Something a bit funny at the end

Another fun blog
I plan to visit Montreal in the future - perhaps in winter. Was good to hear about the underground city. Wondering what your favorite travel camera is these days? Happy holidays from Michigan!

Travel camera
I have a pretty good Canon camera that I am happy with. But my latest mobile phone actually takes equally good photos. So I tend to snap with both the phone and the Canon and pick the one that comes out best. /Ake

I guess the other famous Olympic gold was Anders Garderud in 3000 m steeplechase?
It was a little bit odd to read about Bernt Johansson as one of the two goldmedallists, I guess that Anders Garderud was trhe second? Excellent text otherwise - as usual!

Anders Gärderud was the other
Once I sat on a plane just three or four seats behine Anders Gärderud. I then had the chance to pull a small but fun prank on him but eventually didn't. I still regret that not going ahead with it. /Åke

Leonard Cohen rules (and nobody cares about Barbie)
This heading made me laugh. And I agree, it's odd that the Barbie Museum didn't think to capitalise on the film's success

Belfry?

All alone
I wonder if the rest of the church was destroyed in some way? It's striking to look at, but also very very odd.

Belfry?

Odd and interesting
It could be that the rest of the church has been destroyed somehow and that only the tower remains. That theory is at least as good as ours. /Ake

Montreal
Montreal and Quebec City are so lovely. Memories of the Olympics are good. The architecture in the city is lovely.

Montreal
A very interesting city, definitely on my list of places to visit along with the rest of Quebec. The architecture looks fascinating, definitely a place I could walk around I think.

Good place to walk
Montreal was a pretty good place to walk around in. It was too large to cover only on foot. But the public transport is excellent and when it is too far to walk you just take a trip and continue on foot again. /Ake
