We awoke to sunshine and unexpectedly balmy temperatures. Took advantage of the breakfast buffet, of course, then headed out to explore. We strolled down to the shore of Lake Ontario and sat in the sun – luckily Alan had his sunglasses
so he could watch all the icklebitty aeroplanes landing at the City Airport.
Local informants had suggested having lunch at the revolving restaurant at the top of the CN Tower. That way you don't have to pay the entrance fee for the observation decks :+). Once you get over the slightly odd sensation of your table moving slowly as you eat it is a fantastic experience. The food was very good, too. The day was amazingly clear so we could see all the way across the lake to the US coastline. Oh yes, and there were great views of the airport so a certain person was very happy. Our only regret that the "Edgewalk" was not open yet this season. What could be better after a three-course meal than being dressed in a giant romper suit and attached by a harness to the outside of a tower 1200 feet up in the air ? You can imagine we were soooo disappointed but luckily Hamish can get his adrenalin rush at the Cataloguing Workshop on Tuesday !
