A room with a view
This is the view from our hotel room in Lake Louise- a glacial lake at about 7000 feet. We have just completed five days visiting some of the most scenic( and expensive) places in Canada- Lake Louise- what a view of a lake and glacier from our bed room window-, Jasper, Banff and the Sulphur Mountain gondola and Calgary with its sky walks which are land bridges that link buildings that mean that people do not have to venture our when it gets cold ( up to -40/50 F) in the winter and an indoor tropical garden on level 4 of one of its bigger shopping areas . All very scenic, particularly the Lake Louise and the Columbia snow fields but I am pleased to move on a move to the next stage of our holiday which is 10 days driving around eastern Canada- Toronto,Ottawa,Montreal and Quebec.
Since I lasted updated you I have drank the following local beers; typically lagers at $8-$10 a pint- no smaller glasses given
- Glacier Blonde larger in Denali
- Okanagan Springs 1516 larger in Kamloops
- Blanche De Chamley Citrus beer in Banff
- Molsen's Canadian larger in Calgary
- Tim Whistle larger in Toronto
I have also tasted Belgian beers such as Stella Artois and dutch beers -
Happy girls
Cheryll and her sister Sandra are having a good holiday Grolsch and Heiniken- as you can see life continues to be rough but it is good to have something to help along the way. When I was at the Banff gondola site I saw a sign in the observation tower which indicated that Canberra was only 13,312 km away in a particular direction- be a while before we touch down in Australia . Talk to you again soon- some photos included to cover the activities.
