At the ready...

We leave for India tomorrow, Monday, January 9.

Accommodations are booked, save one that cancelled on us yesterday. Train travel is booked, save for two last connections that can only be done once we arrive in Mumbai. There is one train connection that is ‘wait listed. We are assured that since we are number 3 and 4 on the second wait list it is not really an issue. Yes, India Rail has at least two wait lists!! I am preparing a ‘Plan B’.

The suitcases are packed and so far it looks like I have managed to keep us down to one carry-on each. Of course, we have not actually left yet so who knows.

We fly through Heathrow. Our flight arrives in Mumbai Tuesday morning, 12.40 am Mumbai time. Our first taste of India will be in the dark of morning. Our hotel has arranged for someone to pick us up at the airport. We expect to check in and simply crash.

Once we come to we will probably head out to explore the immediate area and do some shopping. for all those items Vernon wanted to bring and I told him we would get in Mumbai. I’m looking for some light, cotton, trouser and tunic outfits for the two of us.

So… the next entry will probably be from Mumbai. Stay tuned
