The following weekend, although rainy the whole time, turned out okay for the weather. My family had taken ride up to our seasonal trailer and I was exited to re-visit the beautiful scenery in the area of Port Franks and alongside the Ausable River. Again the rain had narrowed down our options on where we could travel, but we managed to catch a couple dry hours and walked the trails at the Ausable River Cut Conservation Area . The view alongside the beach provides a great example of what the mixedwood plains has to offer.
