Sunday's Children's Talk
The Viaje Nicaragua group telling the children about what they'll be doing in NicaraguaYesterday was our last Sunday before we leave for Nicaragua on (very early on Friday). It was a chance to say goodbye to the people of our parish, to tell the younger children about our trip, and to have the congregation pray for us and our journey with the following prayer:
A Blessing for Viaje Nicaragua:
In ancient times the prophet Micah revealed that what the Lord requires of us is to do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with God.
Our Lord Jesus Christ teaches us that we are to go into the world and proclaim good news to the whole creation.
As we set out on our journey this week, may we be faithful to our calling as disciples of Jesus. May we by our words and actions bring good news to the people of Bella Vista, Nicaragua. May we by our hard work help to provide a school for the community, and by our example encourage and inspire the children there to persevere in their education. We pray that you will be with us on our journey and that we may both be a blessing to and be blessed by all Viaje Nicaragua
Wow, we got 15 out of 16 in this picture. Hopefully we'll have all 16 at the airport! those whom we encounter along the way.
O God, our beginning and our end, you kept Abraham and Sarah in safety throughout the days of their pilgrimage, you led the children of Israel through the midst of the sea, and by a star you led the magi to the infant Jesus. Protect and guide all of us who will be traveling in the days to come. Make our ways safe and our home-comings joyful.
