The luggage arrived just in time for us to leave for the Opening . We walked from our Condo to BC Place which was only about 15 minutes away. Along the way we saw a crowd gathering and without realizing it we ran right into the torch as it was being carried through the streets on its way to the opening ceremony. . . Talk about more luck than sense!!!! The ceremony was absolutely spectacular!!! It was like being in a virtual reality experience that we were invited to participate in by using flashlights and drums which were provided by the Olympic organizers. It was like one huge party and everyone here is so friendly to us. We have met people from New Zealand, Australia, Germany and tons of Canadians. Being all dressed in Red, White and Blue, we get a lot of "Yay, USA!!!!! Today we are going up to Cypress Mountain which is where they had a problem with lack of snow but it looks like it is a go! Today after a short 1 hour trip we will be seeing the Women's Freestyle Moguls. We will be making a lot of noise with our cow bells. Stay tuned!!!!

Yay, USA
Hi! We keep looking for you and the rest of the "Cougars". Did you keep the flashlights? How horribly sad about the athlete's death. Sounds like you're in a perfect place. Warm up there, while Hawaii is the only state without snow! Is this more Murphy's Law-watch out you may be run out of town!!! Have a fabulous time (somehow, I think you will even without my wishes). We'll keep looking for all of you! Love, Me

More fun to watch because you're there!
Just wanted to let you know how much we're enjoying watching the Olympics trying to find you in the crowd. It was especially tricky looking for you during the Opening ceremonies....but it is so neat knowing you are there. We are living "the experience of a lifetime" through you.....keep up the good work!

Opening ceremony
It was awesome to watch. The only awkward time came at the end with the mechanical failure. We had taped it and when we went to watch it yesterday the tape stopped right before the ending. Three of those structures had come out - the tape stopped so we never saw the final lighting.
