We arrived around 7 a.m. and found a taxi for the town centre, picked up a tour bus about 9.30 and spent the whole day touring round the city and local area. We heard about all the shopping malls, souks, 5* hotels as the commentary kept repeating information from time to time. Dubai Museum appeared disappointing at first until we discovered the entrance to the underground section which tries to recreate something of the history of the area. Otherwise the creek was the most interesting area with a strange mixture of old and new watercraft of all sizes. The end of the trip allowed us to take a dhow? on the creek just as the sun was setting. This was the highlight of the trip as far as we were concerned. We then found a lovely restaurant for our evening meal on a balcony overlooking the creek, before catching a taxi back to the airport for a short sleep before the flight on to Perth.
