Home Sweet Home

It is rather nice to be back in the bossom of the ranches. Although I must admit that I haven't missed the traffic all that much! Today was actually a very busy day. I took myself off for the morning to visit my beauty salon to get my nails done and left Ma and Pa Ade back at the ranch to get themselves all sorted out with regards to their laundry and luggage.

When I got home again at 1 o'clock we went straight out again to the Madinet Jumeirah so mum could complete her shopping for the trip. After another lovely lunch at Left Bank we hit the stalls and Ma Ade became the proud owner of 2 camel cushion covers and a box of sweets. However the fundamental urge of the trip had yet to be satisfied. Ma Ade still did not have a RUG! So after a quick tiki tour around Palm Jumeirah and the marina it was off to Mall of the Emirates we went so that Ma Ade could browse in the touristy souk section of the mall.

I am pleased to report that we achieved success at Mall of

the Emirates and that the Ade's are now the proud owners of a middle eastern rug. Apparently it is going to look just lovely on the floor of the kitchen, although Pa Ade still can't understand why you would spend that much on something that you are just going to walk on. 😊

And of course today was new year's eve. After discovering that to go anywhere in Dubai would cost a fortune it was decided that we would enjoy a nice mellow evening at Leanne and Steve's apartment on the 33rd floor of the Falcon Tower, so that we could watch the fireworks. There had been rumours of a massive fireworks display on the cards, unfortunatly that did not come to pass. However the display that we could see from the Burj Al Arab was pretty impressive.

Leanne and Steve whipped up a totally wonderful meal, consisting of three heart attack inducing courses, complimented with fantastic French Champange (Thank you our wonderful hosts - The O'Connors are hosting next year at the Burj Al Arab and then I'll do something in a tent in the desert 😊
