Well we finally landed 2hr later than planned & after a very fast & swift exit threw passport control we were out of the airport within 20-25mins of landing & on our way to collect the car we had hired for our trip.
We located the car hire firm nice & easy & less than a 5min walk from the arrivals. The car hire firm were shocked to see us earlier as we had emailed them to let them no we had been delayed but didn't say how long by as this kept changing on us.
After John signed a few forms we were shown to our little Toyota yaris. After being shown round the car & handed the keys off we went out of the carpark & off into the city we were headed
I re-read the email from the hotel to check the directions & it said you will see the hotel in the distance just head towards to & they were not lying. John spotted the hotel 1st reaching toward the sky at a funny angle just like they said. We drove past the hotel exit & back on ourselves into the hotel. We were greeted at the
entrance of the hotel by a guard who directed us up to the hotel entrance. As soon as we pulled up in the car a valet & bell boy both pounced on us taking our case the car key & handing is our parking ticket.
The bellboy took us up to the reception which was on the 18th floor & all I can say is the view is amazing. As we had arrived a little after 8am at the hotel our room we had booked wasn't ready for us but the guy on reception did offer is an upgrade to an executive room for an extra £40 for the 2nites & we could have the room right away. Of cause we agreed as by this point John really wasn't feeling very well.
We were shown to our room on the 20th floor & all we could say when the bellboy opened the door was wow the view of the wall to wall glass windows showed us the whole of Abu Dhabi & it looked amazing. The room itself was huge with a massive extra large king size bed in the centre of the room, seating area at the far end
writing desk large free standing egg shaped bath huge rain shower.
We forgot our tiredness for a little while as we explored the room & took photos of the breathtaking view of the city but after a while tiredness got to us & we decided to have a few hrs sleep.
We woke up after being a sleep for little over 3-4hrs to see the sun shining in threw the huge glass wall of windows & decided we wanted to explore the hotel plus we were hungry & John was feeling rubbish still but told him getting out the room would make him feel better. We decided to go lay by the pool on the 19th floor again amazing views towards the airport
