Five hours Vancouver to Toronto, 1.5 hour layover and then a 9 hour overnight flight to Istanbul. Needless to say we are tired but the trip went well and the car from the hotel was at the airport to pick us up. We settled in the room and did a short walk in the Old City followed by a beer at a streetside restaurant and dinner on the terrace of the hotel.
Serious sightseeing starts tomorrow.

Istanbul was once Constantinople! This tidbit of history I learned from modern music. (They Mught Be Giants) great song. Glad you arrived safely :) what's the time difference?
