Where else would an Ephesian stork nest?
Ephesus: a wonderful site full of relics of a vibrant culture. Onca a harbour city, it is now a silted delta plain some distance from the sea. Paul caused a stir here, contributing to the public dialogue about belief and the worship of the one true god. A city with a library, places of worship,a theatre, an agora, (for shopping), sophisticated housing for the wealthy with running water and underfloor heating and public lavatories with a continuous flush!

An archeologist's playground, and still a working site. Check out the giant jigsaw puzzles still to be done, and the heavy machinery needed to solve them!
