Our last few days in Saudi Arabia continues to delight and amaze. There seems to be no end to the variety of things to see and do. But then again, we're just giddy tourists drinking in what this country has to offer. It's not that we are easily amused, we just never tire of taking in our surroundings and learning more about this desert nation. The western tourists will definitely enjoy their time ... A fascinating place
Thanks for keeping us posted, Saudi looks very interesting. Did you write about dates recently? Today I bought some muesli and found myself picking the one with dates in! Subliminal advertising! It was really nice too, with Greek yoghurt, manuka honey and strawberries.

Yes, that subliminal advertising must be working. Good thing dates are good for you! I'll have to try your yoghurt, honey and strawberries... sounds delightful.

Camel market
Trust you didn't inadvertently buy a camel and have to cart it home with you.... Edge of the World sounds a bit reminiscent of the big canyon we stayed next to in Oman - lots of wonders in this part of the world that are still clearly flying a bit below the radar - you're probably lucky to be seeing it before the tourist hordes discover it. All sounds fascinating as usual!!

Camel Market
Traveling the world before the hordes of tourist get there is an art form. We attempt it when we can. So many fascinating things to see. Again... thanks for following and commenting.

Interesting travel in Saudi Arabia
Thanks for sharing or else I would never know. It has plenty of history too.

Saudi Arabia
Wow! I loved reading about your adventures around Saudi Arabia, and enjoyed very much following along with you. I imagine you will look upon this trip later as being glad to have done it when you did, as if tourism does take off in the future, it's always good to get in there before the masses! I would have loved the camel market, and well done on taking the volcanic crater walk slowly - it's always good to take time to take things in, and to be careful!

Saudi Arabia
I do think we will always be glad to have gone in the early years. We still appreciate the fact that we went to Cuba before it was open to Americans. The older we get the smarter we are about our hiking. We don't go for speed.

The Kingdom
Wow. What a trip and amazing experiences you had. I'd always thought of camels as bad tempered animals (from when we lived in Nigeria and they were all working camels); but I have since met some lovely friendly camels - as a result of having humans who took good care of them I suppose. I'm curious about the 'Beauty' camels :)

The Kingdom
The beauty camels made us laugh because they have very big lips. I believe they have an annual contest and people have gotten in trouble for using botox. What is wrong with people. The camel market was the best.

Very interesting to read about SA
Tourism in Saudi Arabia I pretty much know nothing about. IT is very interesting to read your blogs and get an idea of what there is to see and do there. The canyon looks like something I would like to see some day. /Ake

Saudi offered many surprises. The Canyon was amazing... even though I don't like getting near the edge.
