Ship Hotel

This ship is part of a hotel. Inside it is the conference room.

This was destroyed by Iraq in the invasion of Kuwait. It's now been restored

This is in the hotel. This one was a Viking ship. Another Minnesota connection!

This can be rented out for weddings and parties. It cost a mere $30,000 US per night. Jess, I think I found a wedding place for you.

Hotel Fountain and Sculpture

The water pressure makes this solid marble sphere turn slowly. It was way cool.

Hotel Lobby

I think we should do our assessment centers here from now on.

Prayer beads

One of our hosts had these in his hands most of the time, which is common. They use them for prayer and relaxation.

Science Building and Aquarium

This museum was amazing. It contains the best aquarium I've ever seen. I wish I had more time to spend there.

Desert Roses

I had heard of these, but not seen them. They are a natural formation that can be found in the desert. They are made of a gypsum mineral.

At the aquarium with the family

It was a delight to see entire families here. I don't get to see kids very often on these trips.

Scorpien

Yes, it's real and yes it was moving around quickly. Fortunately, it was in a glass case.

Penguins in Kuwait

This was a brand new exhibit. Having penguins in Kuwait is like having camels in Alaska. Most Kuwaitis have never seen penguins.

Market in Kuwait City
Mostly it was food. I didn't buy anything, but I certainly ate a lot of sample dates and nuts. Besides, I didn't have any Kuwaiti Dinar; I only had Saudi Riyahls. Fun Fact for the day: A Kuwaiti Dinar is worth $3.00. A Saudi Riyahl is worth about 30 cents.
