8-10 September 2017

Our journey to Yorkshire brought us to Pickering, a market town on the edge of the North York Moors. With 15 other Murvi campervan owners, we stayed on a campsite close to the centre of the town.

Pickering is the terminus of the North York Moors heritage steam railway and our first two days were spent using the trains. Firstly riding its entire length through attractive Newton and Esk Dales to the coastal town of Whitby. Secondly doing a splendid 6 mile walk between two of the stations on the moors above Newton Dale.

For our final day we went by bus to Helmsley where we had spent our honeymoon 46 years ago.
