Well ive been a enthusiastic Arsenal supporter for some 10 or more years, so to actually attend a game was a long time coming.. Ive been a member of an international Gunners fan club/ message board for quite some time.. and fortunatley enough managed to make an agreement with a guy on there to attend a game with him. 40£ the cost, but worth every penny. Met up with Gavin around 12.30, and we made our way towards Emirates, going past Highbury on the way, or what was left of it. The new stadium absolutely puts Highbury to shame, and is a fantastic one. Feels much like any stadium back home would (eg. telstra dome) but was extra special, as the home of my beloved Arsenal. After millions of photos, and soaking in the atmosphere, the game was underway. The atmosphere inside the ground is awesome, as you never fail to get 99% capacity crowds every match. in fact, to get a ticket guaranteed, you need to be a signed up arsenal member for over 5 years. Far Goal
View across to the far goal away from us at Emirates plenty of frustration floating around, and humerous chants between opposiing fans. Into the second half, Arsenal finally got a break, and Gallas (our new signing) smashing home the opener. From there Arsenal picked up the pace, forcing sheffield into an own goal, and grabbing a third through a Thierry Henry header. 3-0 the final score, and a fantastic experience. Look out for photos soon, im workin on it! 😊 Bought myself an official pair of Gunners socks to wear at training next year too hehe.
