Monday, 24 July 2023, Happy birthday Charity. Day 9 of the walk.

Alltrails app: 3 hours 35 minutes walking. 8.41 miles. 1030 feet elevation gain. Today Gary's new Garmin watch and my alltrails app tracked the same data.

Garmin forerunner 25. 3 hours 56 minutes walking. 8.36 miles. 751 elevation gain.

This is our last day with our shuttle taxi driver Michael. I wrote a note and we all contributed to a nice gratuity for him. He sent a very sweet thank you text.

At 0900 he picked us up for the 20 minute ride back to Dale where he had picked us up last night. We bid farewell to the Ty Hotel. It has been a nice stay. Meals a bit on the expensive side. Tonight Chuck and I are in the Clock House in Marlow and Jo, Deb and Gary the Foxglove Guest House in Marloe.

Our trail takes us around ever step of the shoreline of Dale Peninsula to Saint Ann's Head. The sun has come out and the trail is much nicer than yesterday. Jo keeps telling me there is a long and short route but I can only find one on all trails.

The views are about the best we have seen. As we pass the Head and continue north and east we are greeted with Skomer and another island off Martin's Point.

At the six mile point the trail looks down the road to Dale, less than a mile from our start. It cuts right across the peninsula. Further On along the trail, the walk from Marloe Sands Beach to our lodging is over a mile and a half.

By consensus we decide to take the trail to the road and then the length of an old airfield. Following google Earth, which alltrails app uses, and Google maps we head more or less directly in to Marloe.

At the 8.4 miles we take a riding path that joins a road at exactly the Clock House. Jo and Gary and Deb are about a quarter of a mile farther.

Deb has texted Gary a photo of her lunch salad. It is just over a mile to the restaurant where she is. The Lobster Pot is right nextdoor so we elect to stay for lunch. We have dinner reservations at the Lobster Pot tonight and tomorrow night.
