So I managed to meet up with Casey and Nikki in Edinburgh and have had an absolutely awesome time here. Edinburgh is such a beautiful city, just like everyone told me it would be, and there is an incredible buzz in the air walking up and down the Royal Mile during this first week of the Edinburgh Festival.

It's also really cool hanging out with just other girls because it turns out people like to accost you on the street with free tickets to random events and I am totally down with that. We've managed to see a couple of really good acts either for free or close to it, as well as stalk a couple of royals at the Duke of Edinburgh's big bash at Holyrood Castle and almost score Casey a job as a promoter for some guy's comedy gig (even if he did later not admit us to see his show just because it was sold out, pfft, the nerve!)

Anyhow, I've really enjoyed this city. Might have to give working here after my travels some serious consideration afterall.

The guards on duty told us the Duke of Edinburgh was holding a big party that night so what else to do but come back later and stalk royals like foreign paparazzi?

Opened three years late and at £432m cost 10 times the amount budgeted for it. A source of both pride and embarrassment for the local scots.
