Well we left the beautiful vineyard outside of Lyon and drove to Grenoble where we stayed the night and experienced the biggest thunderstorm we've ever seen. More great scenery and then off to the small town of Castellane via the Gorge du Verdane which is the deepest longest biggest canyon in Europe. Most impressive. We had a great night in Castellane - the people there were very friendly and the hotels cheap and really nice. The next day we drove to Nice and got ourselves a dodgy little hotel on the water on Boulevarde Des Anglais. This is swanksville ($1000 per night stuff) but because our hotel was so small and delapidated and you couldn't actully see any water because of all the larger swankier joints around it, it was cheap as chips. Nice. On our first night in Nice we met up with some Aussies and drank much beer, told many stories and made lots of claims about how our respective teams were going to win the cup. Did a bus tour of Nice and swam in the Mediteranean the next day - aussie hangover! Night two saw us with the aussies again and another hangover the next day. Which

I don't think they'll let me in wearing these shorts...
was not pleasant as we had to be at the airport at 9am to fly to Edinburgh. Unfortunately our flight to Heathrow was delayed and thus we missed our connecting flight to Edinburgh. The next 10 or so flights to Edinburgh were all oversold (ABs supporters heading north) so we flew to Glasgow and caught the train to Edinburgh. Only six hours late! The big problem was that during this British Airways lost one of our bags. So we have been in Edinburgh now for four days with no clothing between us except what we flew in wearing. Lucky for us we have not let BA's subsequent complete and utter lack of any understanding or customer service affect what has so far been the trip of a lifetime. I won't harp on about this again but for all you travellers out there - don't fly BA. Ever. They suck. They should change the name of the "Customer Service Dept" to "Customer's will be told to f**k off and die when they call this number Dept". Edinburgh has been a lot of fun - our friend Susan Booth has put us up. The Scots love us and are all very friendly. They speak english and drive on the proper side of the road. The ABs came, saw and conquered! For anyone back home saying the score was too small - from where we were sitting five rows back the Scots were defending their guts out and to hold those boys to nil was a bloody good effort. Not to mention the six trys the boys scored. Plus if Dan had have put on his kicking boots before the game it could have been 51-0. Anyways gotta run - driving to Aberdeen tomorrow to see more friends and then on to Dublin so we can watch the game of the weekend (Argentina v Ireland) with the Irish.
