Funky design exhibition museum thingy.
Hello folks

one week to go one week to go one week to go

Now I know you are all on the edges of your seats waiting to hear all my exciting adventures. The problem is I havent left yet!! So I cant really tell you all about Oz for a few more days

BUT I can tell you about Glasgow as a little trial run in Bryson-esque soliloquy (ok, he doesnt soliloquise all that much). (ok so soliloquise probably isnt even a word).

Anyway.

I was up there with work but still managed to get a few hours Thursday night/Friday morning to check out the city. Really nice place. I know I sound surprised- sorry all you northerners! But you have to admit Rab C Nesbitt isnt exactly your prime public relations candidate.

But I didnt meet any Rabs. I met a hairdresser called Tom and a tea's maid called Betty. They drink a lot of tea in Glasgow- proper tea parlours with china cups and sarnies with the crusts cut off and everything. I also went on a bit of a Rennie Mackintosh trail including the Lighthouse design museum which was really trendy

Took this after a night with an Arran Blond. Unfortunately thats a beer.
and had an amazing view from the top. Also spend some time in the Cathedral and a "museum of religious life" which I thought was AMAZING. And a very important thing in the current climate. They had a "christian sword" on display which made me well up. The whole thing was really emotive and they had an amnesty photography exhibition upstairs about women in conflict which was also excellent. Anyone in Glasgow MUST check out this place- right next to cathedral.

So there we go.

Now. I PROMISE you guys the next you hear from me really will from down under. Did I mention only one week to go? ;o)

Hope you like my photos.

love you all

Jenna.

PS one week to go one week to go one week to go!!!!!!!

Charles Rennie Mackintosh
Hello, you have a great blog here! I especially enjoyed the pictures of Glasgow - they are excellent! I have a Charles Rennie Mackintosh jewellery website. It specialises in Charles Rennie Mackintosh Art Nouveau jewellery (or " jewelry" as the Americans spell it) and gifts and I would love you to take a look. I have also started a Charles Rennie Mackintosh blog and would be thrilled if you could take a look if you get time. :-)
