We got up early, went through the Channel Tunnel on a train an hour earlier then we had booked and arrived home in the late morning.

This has been an exceptional eight week expedition to Greece with, except for one wet day, glorious weather the whole time although it was a little hotter than we would have liked during September. By being able to visit Crete, Santorini, Athens and Venice as well as exploring the Peloponnese we have achieved everything we had planned. The beautiful coastal and inland scenery, the organised chaos on the ferries, the remains left by ancient civilisations which were way ahead of their time and the food and drink we have been served by friendly taverna owners will all linger in the memory. We drove 4,600 miles.
