This time Jackie’s and the weather was perfect for a celebratory lunchtime barbecue (in fact a little too hot as we got a bit sun burnt). Trev’s stepdad, Stuart, came to meet us in his new van and mum and Don dropped by for lunch, after partaking of some really nice wine mum insisted on helping Trev with the chores. In the evening one of our friends Paula came to dinner and Trev had to be creative with a cordless drill and a hand whisk, as I wanted to make a mousse and we didn’t have a food mixer – worked a treat. Then it was on to the next barbe, I mean birthday, in Fareham where Emma turned 26. The weather stayed great and we took a trip to the Isle of Wight, unfortunately the weather across the water was not as warm but it was still great fun. The Solent is a fascinating stretch of water with ferries, cargo ships, sailing boats and wildlife coming and going all day long. We were lucky enough to be staying near the hover craft museum in Lee on the Solent and on our last day there saw one of the smaller craft

Amazing what a lunch time drink does to people ‘playing’ on the water. On one of our more energetic days we cycled into Gosport and viewed the Spinnaker tower from across the water, it looked much more impressive.
On to the land of no electricity now, hope the solar panel still works!
