Well that was amazing, I had to wait a long time to actually get up in the air (Virgin balloons don’t tell you it’s about a 1 in 6 hit rate- weather depending) but I have finally celebrated my ‘special birthday’. Thanks kids it was well worth it. It’s fantastic how quiet everywhere is at 7am when you are 3000 feet up in the air. I think it was extra special because it was like saying goodbye to England for a while (great to have my dad with us as well) and felt like we could just float onto our next adventure. Who knows maybe I will do it again over the Serengeti , although I do tend to agree with the guy that said why would you want to land in the jungle in a picnic hamper!!!
Why Travelwash? It's our own soap...there will be a new story each time but with the same main characters.

It is funny how life sometimes takes a hand in sorting out your plans. My name is Gordon and my wife Sue and I were convinced we would go travelling before we had children. We were then certain we would take them with us. The kids left home, we sold the house, we were going to move to France and rebuild a barn but that could take up a lot of time.
