Oxford 2015

The first thing that I noticed when we arrived in England and especially in Oxford were the colossal buildings and amazing architecture. It made me exited to explore the city and gather background knowledge about these buildings. A picture is worth a thousand words so I let them speak for themselves. Here are some photos I took:

These photos are just a few of the many photos I took. The architecture resembles and reflects what Oxford is about. A well build city with bright minds. It is a city of knowledge and that is also the case with the architecture in Oxford. It made me feel puny, and as I looked up and saw those enormous buildings, I took a deep breath and enjoyed the view.

Pantomime

The Pantomime in standing in the top 3 of the best things that happened to me in 2015. Why? Because it made me forget every deadline, stress and other things. It took me out of real life and dragged me into the show. The puns were on fleek, the decor was superb and the acting was just brilliant.

The two best scenes were the Peeking duck pun and the Hello cover from Adele. I almost cried when I heard that pun. And the cover was exquisite but not only that. Knowing that Adele just released that song just a month before the show and putting it in it, shows just how creative and fast moving the crew is. All together was just amazing.

I have gathered some characteristics of a pantomime for Dutch people who are missing out on these annual pantomimes.

- Pantomimes take most of their storylines from fairytales or other well known children stories like Aladdin and Peter pan.

Innuendo jokes implicit for adults

These are the most important characteristics of a pantomime, of course there are many more. But the best thing to do is take a visit to England around Christmas eve and attending a pantomime. It is worth all the effort.
