We are Emma Holmbro and Ake Dahllof. We live in Stockholm, Sweden. Safia Amajan

This piece of art was under construction. We talked to the artist and he told us that the woman pictured, Safia Amajan, was a human rights activist active in Afghanistan. She was murdered in 2006.

Perhaps I wouldn't want this particular painting on the facade of the house I live in, but I don't mind looking at it while I visit East End

Interesting art

The art I saw on the tour of East End was for the most part very interesting. Far more interesting than much of the art produced by well paid artists.

Less dull than it could have been

The art in East End, both the legal and the illegal, make the city more interesting. It would be a much duller place without it.

Video game characters

The artist who made this have put up similar works of art in many cities in the world. This is put up illegally. When they created it they drove there with vans and an aerial work platform, they redirected the traffic for a few hours and left when they were finished

The artist have created this piece of art by carving a relief in the surface of the wall

City of London

Marker that shows where City of London ends. City of London and Greater London is not the same thing.
