This piece of art was under construction. We talked to the artist and he told us that the woman pictured, Safia Amajan, was a human rights activist active in Afghanistan. She was murdered in 2006.

The art I saw on the tour of East End was for the most part very interesting. Far more interesting than much of the art produced by well paid artists.

The artist who made this have put up similar works of art in many cities in the world. This is put up illegally. When they created it they drove there with vans and an aerial work platform, they redirected the traffic for a few hours and left when they were finished
