Walkabout
Byron and I Hi Everyone!
Well we had another succesful weekend of Rugby with the Dee's winning against the much smaller Broadstreet, i am not sure what the score is now but you can find all the match details at www.rugbyroundup.co.uk !! Anyway so Byron played really well, i thought he was close to scoring a try in the opening 15mins but he was just beaten to the ball that he had kicked ahead, by there much smaller back. But he had a great game, put on some great tackles just in front of where i was standing, so i had a great view of how awesome he is.. haha!
Anyway we went down to London on saturday night after the game to catch up with the 2 Jenny's and Dillon who are South African mates of Gerhards. We went to there house for the Halloween party a couple of weeks ago. This time it was Byron, Gerhard, Gina (Gerhards Girlfriend) Vicky (team Physio) and i that headed down. We were going down to go to the Temple Walkabout (its an Australian pub, there are heaps of Walkabouts all over England, mainly Saffas, Kiwis and Aussies go). So we headed down to

Gina and I London after the game as soon as 'us chicks' were ready.
We got down there at about 8pm and then pretty much made our way to the pub straight away. It was on the River Thames so was a pretty cool spot, the trees on the other side and the London Eye were all lit up and looked very pretty, wish i had my camera... oh hang on i did, but i didn think to take a photo!! Oops!! But dont worry i managed to get a WHOLE lot of photos of the night out, 66 in total, and it will give you a good idea of just how massive the night was!!
So we had to catch the tube in, which took about 30mins and on the first tube we unfortuantely got into the same carriage as a man that smelt and looked like he had not washed himself or his clothes for about 10years. He was also apparently carrying an old prison bag, so we think he must have bene let out a few years ago but had nowhere to go. So anyway Byron got the unlucky seat right next to him and spent the whole

Vicky and I journey with his fist covering his nostrils and the funniest look on his face that i have ever seen! At one point he even got his gum out of his mouth and held that up to his nose to smell!!
I on the other hand got up after about 30secs and stood at the other end of the carriage. But Byron being the nice guy that he is said later that he felt bad for him and didnt want him to get offended if he stood up and moved away. haha silly boy, i doubt the man would have even noticed, he was too busy picking skin off his hands and brushing it off his soiled pants... yuck!
Anyways so after the longest tube ride ever, trying to breathe as little as possible to block out the stench, we arrived at Temple Station and were a short walk away from the Walkabout pub. There was a fairly short line, nothing compared to Moose Heads on a Saturday night (not that i ever go there, but just so you have a picture..!), anyway, the line wasnt that big but it took FOREVER to get in, i think we would

Byron and I have lined up for at least 30mins! It was pretty ridiculous, and we were surrounded by Saffas that had obviously just come from watching the Union game vs England which they won!
We eventually got inside (after paying £7 cover charge!!) and soon discovered why it took so long to get in! IT was PACKED! It is a pretty massive club and there were people everywhere! The bar was as long as the whole of one wall and there would have been about 10 or so different lines, and it was still a fair wait for a drink! So we thought it would be a good idea to buy 2 at a time to minimise the time wasted lining up! Hahah yeah it was a great idea at the time, but not so much a few hours later!! ;o)
Us girls spent the whole night dancing and it was a GREAT night, probably the best night I have had here so far. We danced from 10pm til 2am and by the end of the night I was literally almost crying from the pain of my feet! The next day I woke up with bruised and swollen balls of

The Jenny's my feet! Next time I am definitely wearing flat shoes! None of this 3inch heel business!! Haha
Meanwhile the boys, well Gerhard and Byron, had somehow managed to find sachets of Mustard and Ketchup and Vinegar and were having a mini-sauce-war on the dance floor, which as you can see from the photos, ended up everywhere, all in Gerhard’s hair, all over Byrons top (which was actually Gerhard’s) and all over there jeans. Oh and that big wet patch on Gerhard’s shirt is my drink as he was spraying us girls while were trying to pose for a photo and so I got the shits and poured my drink on him!! Hahah it was very funny, even though it was a bit of a waste of my Smirnoff!
We were also being annoyed by some guy who looked like he was on about 700 different types of drugs, while drinking beer. I told him to leave us all alone as we had boyfriends and weren’t interested and he would be like ‘yep ok’ and so I thought ok cool, then next thing you know he was still standing there with a crazy drunk smile on his face just

The Boys (Gerhard, Dillon and Byron) staring, so I told him that our 3 big boyfriends would come and get rid of him soon if he wasn't careful, same crazy grin and ‘ok yep’. So then Byron moved in to have a few words and needless to say was just about ready to punch him, but then Gerhard had a great idea and got the bouncers to throw him out, which meant that our night wasn't ruined by us all getting thrown out because of a stupid fight!
Anyway the bar stopped serving alcoholic drinks at 2am so we thought there is no point staying, and our feet were killing (Vicky and I) so we made a move for home. We got out side and somehow this taxi man that happened to drive a Tarago and could fit us all in came up to us and we were soon negotiating a deal to get us home and food and money all for the one flat rate. So the boys got us £60 which apparently was really cheap, and he even stopped at an ATM, waited for us, a Chicken Takeaway shop, and waited, and then took us home and it was still only £60, just

Mustard Wars like he said! It was awesome!
The taxi ride home was actually a pretty painful one, I think he managed to hit every single bump in the road and swerve as crazily ads he could around every corner. Needless to say after 2-4 drinks at a time for 4hours straight I was pretty drunk and not feeling too good! But I am happy to say that I wasn't nearly as bad as Byron, at least I managed to stay awake and alert enough to order food, get money out for the taxi and pay the right amount at the end!
As you will see from the photos, Byron was passed out for most of the ride home and was pleasantly surprised to wake up just outside the takeaway shop and have a chicken burger and chips waiting for him! Aren’t I good to him? ;o)
So we eventually got home and Byron and I were lucky enough to get a single mattress on the floor, which was very interesting, but we managed to fit and were so grateful to be home, for me to be able to take those shoes off, and to get some sleep!

The Taxi Ride Home...its all a bit much for our little Byron! And as you can probably imagine, Sunday was a day of recovery, we hung around the house in London for most of the day not doing very much at all, going through the photos and reminiscing the night before. Then we made a move to come back to Dunstable at about 3pm.
So it was a great weekend, London is definitely much better to go out in than here, and the people we stayed with are awesome! Hope you all enjoy the photos!
Til next time…

Chicken Burger Love is special
Another lovely little story Emma to brighten up my otherwise dull existence without you 2, but must say firstly I think that the male company you keep may be just a little sus, mustard wars! they sound like they would be of great interest to a social anthropologist, love the guy on the train story, Byron's not feeling itchy lately is he? Scabies can jump u know. But anyway.... its great to hear of a fun night out 4 u all=GOOD, sore feet=BAD. I hope Byron learns from Gerhard re bouncers doing the dirty work 'technique', please remember that one when back home Byron.
