Regent's Park
a beautiful park... There is so much going on I hardly know where to begin!
Class is going quite well. It seems 100 times easier than classes I've had back home, but I'm not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. The class is based on 100% coursework so I do not know how hard they will grade. It worries me and relieves me at the same time, realizing how easy it is...
Last night (Wednesday the 2nd) we had a meeting with our CEA advisor lady. She took us to dinner at a classy restaurant in Leicester Square. It was just alright. The desert was the best part. I am still battling food here. It just has no flavor and most of it is odd to eat or not pleasant. I think that plus all the walking we've been doing is going to make me lose a lot of weight while over here. That is, if I stop eating crunchies, orange kit-kats and jammie dodgers.....
After dinner we attended a Shakespearean play, Twelfth Night, in an Open Air theater in a huge park. It was beautiful, and the play was very good. Before dinner Clara and
Baker Stree
Sherlock Holmes anyone? I arrived early, and walked around the square. There were many shops, and old antique stores we went through, as well as chinatown-esque market. On the whole it was an alright day.
We are trying to do as much as we can in the afternoons, after class, because we're in class till 3:30 everyday. It is hard sometimes, because most things around London close early. But, I'm doing my darndest to fit everything in, and I'm scheduling as best as I can. We've done alright so far.
Things we have planned:
- Globe Theater
- British National Museum
- Tower of London tour, this Friday (Tomorrow!)
- Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle (Saturday!)
- Stonehenge and Bath (Sunday!)
- Dublin Ireland (July 10th - 13th).
Ireland is an interesting story. It started with me saying 'Clara, we're going to Ireland on the 10th, and coming back the 13th' to which she replied 'OK'. (I do all the navigating and planning, and just ask Clara what she wants to do, then pencil it in). Though, now it has snowballed into 'Ryan is planning a trip to Ireland, we're glad someone has the smarts to figure it out, lets all go
with him'. So, what was originally 2, then 3, then 4, is now 6 and possibly 8 I've heard just now.
I don't mind at all, though, I am going to tell them all I'm not their Dad. If they stick with me, I'll get them there and back, but if they aren't there when its time to leave, they'll be left behind. I can't babysit 8 people. Clara is my responsibility and her alone. Tag-alongs are alright, but they're all adults and should be pertinent enough to either stick with me or go it alone. I've got it all planned though, so that should be a lot of fun. James, seen in some previous blog pictures, will be in attendance with us, as well as a girl named Elizabeth, whose baggage was also lost like mine.
Well, that's all from me today. Enjoy the pictures I've enclosed, and love you all!
Cheers, Ryan
