Landing in London at 10am after flying from New York to Washington to catch our connecting flight, just to fly over New York, an English immigration officer that gave us the third degree worse than the Yanks, we were tired but ready to start experiencing London! First stop the laundromat for our first wash of the trip! nice eh 😉
The theatre is a favourite for me here and after going to Broadway, I was able to drag Chris to two West End shows, my two favourites, Wicked and We Will Rock You... He liked Wicked, he LOVED We Will Rock You.. I love being able to say I told you so heheh
A must do for me on this trip was a return to Oxford and a visit out to Cambridge, both days started early, Oxford by bus and Cambridge by National Rail. Arriving in Oxford, we were fortunate enough to be able to jump straight on a hop-on-hop-off sightseeing bus that took us on an hour long tour of Oxford, afterwards we climbed the Carfax Tower, went out to Oxford Castle and visited a few colleges before heading back to London. Mich's small room with a slanted ceilingtime in Oxford last time I was in England so this wasnt done was comprehensively as Cambridge was.
I was very excited to visit Cambridge after getting a very small taste last time I was here but I really didnt the chance to explore properly. Today we did and oh god did we walk! We decided to walk the 3kms from the train station into town before collapsing in a punt and taking a leisurely crusie down the river, tour included on the various colleges that back onto the river. After lunch, we headed to the various colleges, all charging to get in and have a look, and going for a walk along the river that doesnt allow you between colleges.. Cheap bastards! After a walk around the shops, we headed back to London.
My bestie Michelle moved to London in April so it was awesome being able to catch up with her here over boozey lunches, discovering goss and reminiscing over good times. She's currently living in a SMALL house with 4others where they all pay £500 a month! No thanks! Although that is better than apartment prices in NYC where they pay $3000 a month for
a one bed.. No thanks!
One more day before we leave London behind and head to Antwerp.. Mmm Belgium beer!
