In the middle of Trafalgar square
We travelled down on the train from Nottingham to London today. We are at Macdonalds at the moment having a quick lunch before we go to the Lyceum theatre to see the Lion King.

...later...

On the way to the theatre we went through Trafalgar Square, then down Whitehall looking in at No. 10, but you can't really see it these days because it is surrounded by police and ramps and railings.
Then along the banks of the Thames and back into theatreland.
After the show, which was excellent, we had tea at TGI fridays, which included a massive hotdog, worm and dirt pie, and some other more conventional items. Then a walk down the Mall and through the park to Buckingham palace before catching the tube for our train home.

The train was not delayed, but had been put together in a hurry so was actually two trains strapped together and the seating was all messed up - so our reservations were good for nothing. However after sitting for a few minutes in the gangway, the ticket collector allowed us to sit in the almost empty first class, as we couldn't get through to the seating area which

might have our reservations as there was no connecting corridor.

So anyway - not too bad, but they do sting you for tea/coffee at the buffet bar.
